We have just returned (exhausted) from displaying at the South Wales Evening Post's Wedding fayre at the Liberty Stadium. The Liberty stadium is the home of the Ospreys and Swansea City Football club and it was a fabulous venue to hold the event. I am not sure what the final count was but it certainly was more than the 1,000 people predicted. We have talked cake so much, our tongues are worn out.
As Wedding fair debuts go - I think this was a good one. Our stand looked amazing and nearly everybody commented on how unique and contemporary the cakes were.

We are currently in the process of expanding our business to incorporate the La Creme Centre of Excellence on the Baglan Moors. This unit will host a purpose built kitchen and the site will also incorporate both a Wedding cake studio and a Birthday cake studio and we will host cookery demonstrations and cookery classes. One of the ideas we have for the future is to run a class called "Bake your own Wedding Cake" - watch this space for more details as we have it.
Last year Sian was voted one of the top three patissiers in the UK at the British Bakery Awards in London and since then her fame has grown. Sian is now a regular recipe writer for the Evening Post. Officially we made 7,200 of our Great Taste Award winning frangipane mince pies over the Christmas period which equates to 600 boxes. We also sold 55 boxes of our award winning petit four Welsh Cakes. The top selling dessert was our White Chocolate and Raspberry Ripple Cheesecake.
We have had lots of lovely comments from customers who gave our products as gifts for Christmas. This was an email I received yesterday.
It was titled :SUPERB! What a product and super presentation.
"I go to a cafe in Mumbles called Theos, where I was asked to try your mince pies and was so impressed with the texture and flavour I ordered a box to take away for Christmas and a box of Welsh Cakes. Unfortunately I was taken ill and did not go away, and I am afraid I ate the boxes of your goodies I had intend for presents to others. I AM SO GLAD I DID! The mince pies and cakes were SO DELICIOUS and I also have to commend you on your packaging and design choice. Quite Superb. Your product would grace Harrods and Fortum and Mason. Quite quite delicious. I wish you well with your business.

What a lovely email to receive. It really would be wonderful to one day make products for Fortum and Mason and certainly when we open the La Creme Centre of Excellence this will be one of our aims.
Sian's latest creations are Black and White individual wedding cakes made for a Wedding held at the Gower Golf Club on Saturday 3rd January 2009. The Gower Golf Club is one of a number of fantastic golf courses in the Swansea area and has great facilities for holding Wedding ceremonies. This was the first time that La Creme Patisserie have delivered a Wedding Cake to this venue although I am sure that it won't be the last.

In light of Sian's award winning creations, our calender is filling up quickly for 2009 so don't delay.
As part of the consultation process Sian can arrange sampling for you to trial different flavours and we also offer a service whereby we can co-ordinate the desserts at the Wedding reception with the Wedding Cake.
Some brides bring pictures from a magazine of their dream wedding cake for Sian to match, whilst others are looking for inspiration. We have lots of Wedding books and magazines available for you to flick through or alternatively why not just leave it up to Sian to create something amazing.
We are fortunate at La Creme to have some very talented people working for us. People who can make even a simple latte look amazing. The secret is that everything we make is made with love.

We have had some fabulous comments recently about how helpful and friendly all the staff are at our patisserie. One person said this week that we were like the Tina Turner song "Simply the Best".
A review in the Evening Post last week called us a "mecca for pudding lovers".
