Homemade Chutney is one of the most satisfying things to make this time of year. The winter spice aromas fill the kitchen when you are cooking up the recipe, but then you have to wait at least a month until it matures in your darkest cupboard.
When the time comes to add a table spoon of rich fruity chutney to moist peice of ham or wedge of mature cheese, you can take satisfaction from the fact that you cooked it yourself.
