Reaction to Neath Food Festival

It is always difficult planning something new, especially something as large as a Food & Drink Festival.

How will the public take to it? How will local business react?

Will anybody come? What about the weather?

Can we attract the exhibitors?

These are just a few of thousand questions I asked myself before embarking on the project. My gut told me that Neath would support it. Neath people want to buy local and support local welsh producers. Without exception, the producers are truly passionate about their products and the food and drink festival was a fantastic platform to showcase the best they have to offer.

Everybody has a smile on their faces and has a positive story to tell.

 

Sian spent the day hosting cookery demonstrations in St.Davids church and again the public support was incredible. Sian's recipes were carefully chosen to showcase local produce and there was plenty of samples to go around after each session. Many thanks to Adam Jones who kindly agreed to open the festival and did the first cookery demonstration with Sian. The people of Neath feel tremendous warmth for Adam and we all feel very proud of his success. Adam was wonderful with children and my favourite question of the day was nothing to do with rugby, it was an enquire into

 "What hair care products, Adam uses".

The first Neath food and drink festival was a roaring success with both traders and the general public throughly enjoying the day. Lots of samples were given out and lots of money went through the tills, as people came out in force to support local producers.

The quality of the produce on offer was first class and the exhibitors showed their true passion for the products they make.

Preparing for Neath Food and Drink Festival

Saturday 24th October is going to be the day of the first Neath Food and drink festival and here at La Creme we are busy preparing.

Products on sale on the day will include Halloween Cup cakes, welshcakes, chocolate brownies, millionaire shortbread, toffee apples and frangipane tarts.

Our stall will be based close to Town square alongside Next.

As well as running a stall, Sian will also be hosting a day of cookery demonstrations in St.Davids Church the first one of which will start at 11.00am and Sian will be accompanied by Adam Jones, the Wales and British Lion forward.

In order for Sian he utter the famous line "Here's one I prepared earlier" here's a picture of her making many today.

Camper Van Birthday Cake

Its must be motor week in Neath and Swansea because we have had two very special commissions this week.

One for an 18th Birthday Camper Van Cake and one for a Racing Car 1st Birthday Cake.

We have also had two orders for two very special young ladies who requested Giant Cup Cake Birthday Cakes.

Swansea Debenham's Wedding Cakes

Today we launched a range of Wedding cakes to be displayed exclusively at the Swansea branch of Debenhams, on the Wedding department. The year long agreement with Debenhams will allow us to have a permanent presence in the store and we will also be able to use the space to showcase cakes for other occasions such as Birthdays, Christenings and Anniversaries.

Adam Jones to open Neath food & drink festival

We are absolutely delighted that Ospreys, Wales and British Lions forward Adam Jones has kindly agreed to open the first Neath food and drink festival to be held on Saturday 24th October 2009.

The event has been a long time in the planning but it has really captured the imagination of the local businesses and organisations in Neath and I have had nothing but positive feedback from everybody.

There will be lots of entertainment on the day and Sian will be running cookery demonstrations in St.Davids church using local ingredients.

Chocolate 30th Birthday cake

Design brief was chocolate,chocolate, 30,wales,chocolate,rugby and chocolate.

Cup Cakes with roses and lillie's

Cup cakes are definitely the height of current fashion in Wedding Cakes.

Sian latest creations were cup cakes decorated with roses and Lillie's for a Welsh bride and groom, who were getting married in West Wales.

As a Wedding display, it looked absolutely stunning.
 

New desserts for la Parrilla

Menu change again at La Parrilla in Swansea with two new desserts coming onto the menu.

The first is an individual Apple Crumble Cheesecake which was our entry to this years Welsh True Taste awards.

And the second is a real winter dessert - la creme individual sticky toffee pudding.

So if you are eating out at La Parrilla on SA1 make sure to leave some room for the desserts.

They are la creme.
 

Banqueting Desserts for The Towers

The Towers Hotel in Swansea were holding a banquet last week and they asked us to make 140 Chocolate desserts and 140 Strawberry desserts for the event.

We supply a number of hotels, restaurants and wedding & banqueting venues across South Wales with our individual desserts as well as a number of deli's and coffee shops.
