Bluebell Hotel in Neath start using La Creme Desserts

It is always nice to pick up new accounts, and this week we have started supplying the restaurant at the new Bluebell Hotel in Neath called La Mancha.

The La Creme desserts Sian has chosen include the following :

Lemon Cheesecake

 

and Raspberry Mousse Gateau

 

Other choices include La Mancha Chocolate Cake and blackcherry roulade.

So remember, if you are dining out at La Mancha remember to leave some room for the dessert.

 

 

 

Blackberry cheesecakes for Margam Orangery Wedding

Not only did Sian make the desserts for the Wedding at Margam Orangery today but she also delivered them and she photographed them.

Pepper crusted Salmon with Wine and Prawn Sauce Recipe

Liberty Stadium, Swansea Wedding Fayre

We have just returned (exhausted) from displaying at the South Wales Evening Post's Wedding fayre at the Liberty Stadium. The Liberty stadium is the home of the Ospreys and Swansea City Football club and it was a fabulous venue to hold the event. I am not sure what the final count was but it certainly was more than the 1,000 people predicted. We have talked cake so much, our tongues are worn out.

As Wedding fair debuts go - I think this was a good one. Our stand looked amazing and nearly everybody commented on how unique and contemporary the cakes were.

If you attended the show and have followed the links on our leaflet to this blog then please read through the articles to find out all about us and check out the Cakes gallery's on the left hand side to see examples of our award winning cakes. We are currently in the process of expanding our business to incorporate the La Creme Centre of Excellence on the Baglan Moors. This unit will host a purpose built kitchen and the site will also incorporate both a Wedding cake studio and a Birthday cake studio and we will host cookery demonstrations and cookery classes. One of the ideas we have for the future is to run a class called  "Bake your own Wedding Cake" - watch this space for more details as we have it.

Last year Sian was voted one of the top three patissiers in the UK at the British Bakery Awards in London and since then her fame has grown. Sian is now a regular recipe writer for the Evening Post. We feel that we are offering something unique to South Wales and it is fantastic to be part of people's special day and helping to make great memories.

If you are passing Neath, then call into our patisserie which is situated in Angel Square next to Morrisions car park and have a cup of coffee and sample one of our cakes. You won't be disappointed.

One step at a time

One step at the time is the old saying.

Well today we had fifteen delivered all together, as the fitters set to work to install our new staircase at the unit, two weeks ahead of schedule.

 

CGL Services - "They don't hang about"

How long is a peice of string

The electricians have been on site all week, asking all "electric type questions" and chasing each other round with wires. They keep going on about a hub!! I don't know what it means, I think it is something to do with Dr.Who and being able to watch TV and work the toaster whilst sitting in my office (renamed the La Creme control room).

They keep stopping work when I appear with the camera so that they can comb their hair. That is those of them that have hair. Those that don't just try to look busy and grin aimlessly.

First fix is over so they will be back in a month, once the walling has been finished.

I don't know who is going to make the coffee once they are gone. Perhaps Nigel can ask the carpenters to build a table to save them from bending down.

CGL Services don't hang about

The La Creme Centre of Excellence is really starting to take shape. CGL Services have been working all weekend and the partition walls for the offices upstairs are now in place.

Wedding Fair at the Liberty Stadium, Swansea

We are going to be exhibiting at the Liberty Stadium on Sunday 18th January as part of the South Wales Evening Post's Wedding fair. This will be our debut as far as Wedding fairs go and Sian is busy planning the Wedding Cakes we will be exhibiting and the Wedding favours.

The main chocolate cake Sian has in mind is going to be amazing, so if you are looking for a Wedding Cake make sure you come and see us on our stand. We will make sure that there are samples to takeaway and you can talk to Sian about your dream cake.

British Baker Magazine run article on La Creme

News of our expansion plans and the new La Creme Centre of Excellence has reached the British Baker magazine. This week they have run a story on their website and the story will also feature in next weeks British Baker magazine.

The story features a picture of Sian showing off one of her wedding cakes.

 

Sian was runner up as Patissier of the Year at the British Baker Awards in 2007.
